The Shiva Yoga Retreat Experience
You can have a very transformational experience, in a very short period of time, on a Shiva Yoga retreat. It is not uncommon for your retreat to have a huge impact on you, and on the rest of your life.
The retreat experience allows you to be away from regular obligations and daily distractions, and focus on your practice, and on self care.
Relax, rejuvenate, and recharge with a Shiva Yoga Retreat!
We design a special yoga program for each of our retreat experiences. All classes are optional, so you can choose how much, or how little practice you need. Most days on retreat we have two classes, with meditation or pranayama in the morning, and some days we offer special workshops as well, to help you deepen your practice.
We choose beautiful locations for each of our Shiva Yoga retreats. We want you to be able to enjoy interesting excursions and explore the local culture.
We choose retreat centers that offer beautiful accommodations, with additional amenities — usually a pool, jacuzzi, infra-red saunas, steam rooms, and an on-site spa. Relax and soak in the pool or jacuzzi, or let the infrared sauna's penetrating rays help to heal tired and sore muscles, or help you to increase your flexibility. Book an additional massage or treatment at the spa, to enhance your retreat experience and overall well-being.
We choose retreat centers that place a high priority on healthy & nutritious, and locally grown food, with options for those who are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free. The nourishment of community, and enjoying family style meals, while on retreat, is a key component of the retreat experience.
Creating community is a big part of what we are doing at Shiva Yoga, and we make this a priority when we are on retreat too. One of the things we often hear from those on retreat is how powerful it was to connect with the group. Each of our retreats offers an opening and closing ceremony, with time for group sharing, to allow an opportunity for you to be be seen and heard and to connect with others.
On a Shiva Yoga retreat, you’ll get to know your fellow retreaters and create friendships and bonds for life. It’s a wonderful experience, traveling with a group of like-minded people, taking your yoga practice to the next level, staying in beautiful accommodations, enjoying healthy and delicious meals, and exploring a new country and its culture. Unwind with a massage or jacuzzi, between challenging classes and workshops, that push you out of your comfort zone. Or spend time relaxing by the pool, reading, journaling, or just doing nothing at all.
